American women have given 7.5 years in prison for fraud on the Internet school
Federal Court sentenced a San Francisco consultant on education Judy Green (Judy N. Green) to 7.5 years in prison for fraud in connecting schools to the Internet, reports United Press International.
As the court found, from 1998 to 2003 Green inflated cost of equipment and traffic, which offset the government of the United States under the federal aid program for schools E-Rate.
For six years, a woman resorted to fraud in the 25 projects on connecting to the Internet in seven states.
E-Rate program was launched in 1996 to fund educational programs and Internet connection of schools to the Internet. According to the Ministry of Justice of the United States, as a result of enforcement of anti-monopoly investigation of the programme in various machinations were found 12 people and six companies. Total damage from actions fraudsters exceeded 40 million dollars. |
