Fed lowered the base bid to 2.25 per cent
On Tuesday the Committee on the open market system of the United States Federal Reserve lowered base interest rate by 75 basis points to 2.25 per cent.
As stated in a press release Fed, the measure is designed to encourage moderate economic growth and reduce the risks of economic activity. However, the danger of continuing recession persists.
According to the latest information indicated in the statement the Fed, economic activity continues to decline, consumption growth is slowing and financial markets otsayutsya under considerable pressure. Also, inflation grew, and grew some of the indicators of inflationary expectations.
The last time the base rate lowered in January 2008, and since September 2007 the figure, which stood at 5.25 per cent whereas, declined six times already. |
