Putin has received from Bush's "serious document"
Vladimir Putin has received a message from George Bush that the Russian president has called "a serious document", RIA Novosti. "We think that this is a serious document, we have carefully analyzed, and, if agreement on the substantive provisions, we can consider that our dialogue is developing productive" - said Putin.
Contents of the letter Russian President did not disclose, but unnamed source in Moscow told the agency that the message "describes the vision of bilateral relations and their development prospects after the change of power in the White House and the Kremlin. Election of the new President of the United States will be held in November 2008, and to assume the head of state will begin in January 2009. In Russia, the presidential election has already taken place, and the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Medvedev will be held in May 2008.

In particular, the United States has proposed Russia to carry out occasional inspections of the American missile defense system in Poland and the Czech Republic, with the consent of the authorities of these countries, while Moscow insisted on the constant presence of their officers observer.
Furthermore, the document stated that the activation of these objects will be implemented dollars at its own discretion, whereas Russia advocates that a decision to this effect was taken collectively with the participation of all interested countries. |
